I know I preach a lot about security , but , identity theft is up 45% from last year. I , as well as you, by being in the very social setting of Face book, are exposed to an alarming degree and we really need to limit the amount of information we provide. It is no wonder so many people have a profile for gaming and one for family. By their very nature the applications on Face book require an amount of faith that the information we provide in order for an application to function, will not be misused. ONLY use applications created and run by and on Face book! Do not use applications which redirect you somewhere else. Control of information, your information should only be given to someone who can be at least slightly held accountable. I have seen so many people fall for the free give away come on it is sad. If they took 5 minutes to go and look at who created the page or event they would see that there is no trace of a real person. Face book seems to tolerate this deception. DO NOT BE A SUCKER!!!!!!!! Please stop exposing yourself to this sort of risk. STOP exposing your friends to this! Every time you allow an application or page to get your information in order to get something, to good to be true, you also expose your friends. THINK! THINK! THINK! Take time to at least see who is involved in what your getting yourself and friends into. In your privacy settings you will see some items I have highlighted. control your information and limit the exposure to yourself and your friends. There is also a section so you can see when the last time your information was accessed by the applications you use. If you see an application is using your information even though you have not been using the application, delete it! If your not actively using an application, delete it. People assume a level of safety on Face book that IS NOT THERE!
